THE ASMFC IS DECIDING ON THE FUTURE OF OUR FISHERY. WILL YOU BE THERE TO LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD?
On October 29, The Maine Association of Charterboat Captains is arranging a bus trip to Connecticut to make our voices heard in the fight to reduce fish mortality.
We NEED you to participate.
For only $45, you get transportation and an Orvis “Save Our Stripers!” hat to be worn during the hearing.
COMMERCIAL INTERESTS ARE WELL-FUNDED, AND WELL ORGANIZED.
As usual, the commercial industry will be there in force, demanding to be allowed to continue harvesting from a fishery that is already in trouble. That’s why your voice is so important.
WE CAN TURN THE TIDE ON THIS ISSUE!
Comments at hearings up and down the East Coast have surprised even the ASMFC, with many concerned parties demanding an immediate reduction in harvest. That means we have the ASMFC’s ear! But it will all mean nothing if we don’t put at least 50 people in those seats.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A CAPTAIN OR A GUIDE TO TAKE PART!
Anyone interested in the future of our bass is welcome to come and be a part of saving our fish.
WE NEED NOTHING NOW BUT YOUR COMMITMENT…
Right now all we need you to do is send an email to mike@fishportlandmaine.com, or call me at 207-619-1584, and let me know you’re coming.
At this point, all we need is a head count. I will then follow up with each participant and provide the details for our trip.
IF YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT MAKE IT:
In the event you can’t make it, please consider sponsoring, even partially, someone who can. If you wish to donate in order to defray costs for someone else, please get in touch with me and we can make arrangements.
Thanks so much!
